Central-periférica, Alcobaça

Central-periférica is an Artistic Research Center and Residency situated in Alcobaça, which was established in August 2022 by BABEL-Organização Cultural, a non-profit association with a focus on generating opportunities for research, knowledge production, and learning in contemporary art, architecture, and environment, operating in Macau (2013) and in Alcobaça (2022).

Central-Periférica features a regular program of artistic residencies, exhibitions, workshops, and talks, all aimed at fostering engagement with the local community. These activities are designed to promote the principles of the New European Bauhaus, an initiative that seeks to bring together design, sustainability, and inclusivity to create more livable and desirable places for people. Through its programming, central-periférica aims to contribute to the achievement of these goals while also providing a platform for emerging and established artists to showcase their work and engage with a diverse audience.

Hangar, Lisboa

HANGAR is an independent Artistic Research Center located in Graça, Lisbon. The Center includes an exhibition center, artistic residencies, and artistic studies. HANGAR is also committed to fostering education, talks, and conversations that bring together diverse geographic locations, cultures, and identities to stimulate the development of artistic and theoretical practices.
One of HANGAR's primary objectives is to organize and produce interdisciplinary projects and visual arts projects that highlight Lisbon as a central backdrop for contemporary culture. The Center is managed by artists and curators who strive to provide a space for experimentation, research, and reflection on artistic practices. HANGAR is a point of convergence for various areas of contemporary artistic processes, making it an ideal location for artists, researchers, and art enthusiasts to engage with a vibrant community of like-minded individuals.

Serra, Leiria

The Serra is for everyone!

Located in the middle of nature, it provides artists in residence with the perfect environment for reflection and creation. The multidisciplinary ecosystem allows for new approaches to be explored and debated.

Artists will have a work space and stay in a room in the "Casa Das Artes Eng. Ribeiro Vieira". They will have the comfort, time and fruitful space to develop their projects.

Córtex Frontal, Arroios

Córtex Frontal is a multidisciplinary cultural project created in 2015, managed by Córtexcult Cultural Association and based in Arraiolos, Évora district, Alentejo. Córtex Frontal organizes artistic residencies, workshops, and exhibitions and gets involved in local and regional creative projects in Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Literature or Music. Promote local, national and international activities, collaborating with public or private institutions and involving artists and diverse communities.

Terra da Fonte, Mafra

Ateliê Oriente - Rio de Janeiro

Ateliê Oriente is a photography hub. A space for the meeting of people who create, share, undertake and work together. It is also a gallery where different artists circulate, throughout the year, in the four exhibitions that make up its calendar. It's a place for the exchange of knowledge, where they land and distribute—where there is space for those interested in all forms of artistic expression.

Lama Teatro, Faro

LAMA Teatro was founded in 2010, having as its primary objective the development of a contemporary and multidisciplinary artistic approach based on exploratory dynamics, which focuses on various dramaturgy, resulting in the adaptation of dramatic texts by other authors and the creation of original works. The work aims to promote conditions for the creation of a place of discovery and singular experience to allow the construction of a complex and continuous dialogue, always in articulation with the most diverse domains, namely, education and technology.

It is a Network of Cultural Producers of Photography. It has more then 300 affiliates, representing more than 100 cultural initiatives. Since 2010, it has been active in the fields of Promotion, Dissemination, Training and Memory.

Galeria de Arte Gema, Maputo e Lisboa

As a platform for promoting artists and their artworks, the gallery seeks to assist artists through technical consultancy, procurement, and production projects and encourages workshops and cultural exchanges.

One of the main objectives is to explore art from a global perspective and challenge emerging talents and established artists through different curatorial concepts to look at conceptually and practically different approaches in producing, researching, and promoting their artworks in professional domains.

Mulheres de Luz, Brasil

Mulheres Luz (Light Women) was born to make visible, disseminate and democratise access to the content produced by female photographers and women of the image in Brazil, bringing together essays and portfolios focused on various themes, times and territories and publishing cultural research and publications.

The platform proposes to act as a network, making available a tool that allows the national and international market to locate by region and segment. These women are part of the broad productive chain of making and thinking photography and a space for exchange and knowledge.

A plural place for action, speech and listening to shelter meetings, connections and cooperation to stimulate and strengthen the production of stories with a point of view, to contribute to break systems that are repeated and established based on a logic in which women are not seen. It is urgent to fill gaps in time and space, interconnecting them in a new timeline and not allowing erasures.
